Coffee is so much more than just a type of drink. It’s an experience in itself, some might even say it’s a lifestyle! Different roasts not only taste different but can make you feel certain ways and the atmosphere in which it’s served matters too. Giving you your best ever coffee experience, that’s the goal at Revolver!

Revolver Coffeeshop Vancouver - Out in Vancouver

Located on a side street in hip Gastown, this coffeeshop has the expected hipster feel. Brick walls give this place a nice vibe, especially combined with the abundance of black metal pipes and wood. It has a masculine whiskey and leather kind of feel to it.

Revolver has two rooms. The actual Revolver Coffeeshop is where all the coffee action happens. Here you order your coffee, chat to some friends or a strange while you wait for your coffee and gaze at all the fancy toys displayed. Pop music is playing in the background. The Archive next door is perfect if you are looking for some peace and quiet. It is very calm and has a museum/store/library like feel to it, displaying fancy coffee making equipment. Very interesting and somehow inspiring.

Revolver probably has the biggest selection of different roasts in the city, many of which are from around the globe. The roasts rotate, just like the bullets in a revolver, which keeps it interesting for regulars. The rotating selection includes roasts like The Barn from Berlin, Commonwealth from Denver as well as more local ones such as Bows & Arrows from Victoria, BC.

Not only does Revolver offer a huge selection of different roasts, but also a vast variety of different brewing methods. If you are a fan of the slow bar, you will be in heaven here. But espresso lovers don’t you worry, they have plenty of options for you too. With the amount of expensive toys at Revolver, the staff is equipped to make almost any wish come true!

I personally like to keep it simple with a classic Late. An Oldie but a Goldie, am I right? The Latte I had from Revolver was pretty perfect. As a homage to my home country, I chose The Barn from Berlin for my roast. The nutty and intense aroma of the espresso was a great choice for a milky Latte. The flavours were spot on and the milk foam had the perfect consistency, giving this Latte a super smooth mouthfeel. Overall it was a very special coffee experience, just how the staff at Revolver promises.

Enjoy a sweet snack with your choice of coffee. After looking at the display, you won’t be able to say no. From raspberry coffee cakes over a variety of muffins to lemon loafs, they have a carefully curated selection of delicious treats.

Revolver is a must try for all coffee enthusiasts. Indulge in the fascinating display of expensive toys and philosophize with the staff about the future of coffee. This is a very special coffeeshop amidst the abundance of Starbucks, Blenz’s and Tim Hortons in this city. It might not be the cheapest option but it’s definitely a great treat every once in a while!
